What is Voices of the Study City?

Voices of the Study City is an ambassador corps made up of students from higher education institutions in Kolding. The initiative was created because educational institutions, the municipality, and local businesses have all said: “We want to hear the students’ voices more clearly.”

The aim is not only to address the needs of businesses and organisations, but also to ensure that students have real influence on decisions and new initiatives that affect student life in Kolding, while also strengthening connections between students and local employers.

In short: to give students a stronger voice in the city. For this, we are looking for 5–10 ambassadors.

The ambassadors will become part of The Whole Study City, a partnership between ALFABO, Business Kolding, SDU Kolding, and Kolding Municipality. The partnership strives to make Kolding an even better place to study, live, work, and build a life.

As an ambassador, you will participate in a time-limited programme with specific activities and receive a total fee of 7,500 DKK. You will not be employed by an organisation.

What will you do?

As an ambassador you will:

  • Participate in a joint kick-off and 3–4 meetings during the year

  • Visit companies (in May) and housing organisations (in autumn)

  • Provide honest and concrete feedback on your own and fellow students’ views on student jobs, internships, the transition to work, and housing

  • Talk to other students and bring their perspectives into the process

  • Participate in an innovation workshop in November, where recommendations will be developed

You are not a spokesperson for your educational institution, but you should be willing to gather and share perspectives from fellow students.

Time commitment

The total time commitment is expected to be approximately 25–35 hours in 2026, and activities will be planned so they can be combined with your studies.
