Kolding is a cultural city with many opportunities — also for students.
Stop by the city’s pride and joy, Koldinghus, where you can experience changing exhibitions and enjoy the view of the city, the fjord, and the castle lake. Or visit the cultural complex Nicolai, where you can find a cinema, concert hall, gallery, and workshops where you can unleash your creativity.
If you are into music and performing arts, we have that too! Visit Godset and make use of their rehearsal rooms or experience their wide range of concerts. Or stop by Dronning Dorothea Teatret and Comwell Teatret, which are often visited by some of the country’s biggest comedians.

Kolding offers plenty of specialty stores and affordable supermarkets. The city center is cozy and located right next to the large campus area. If you want to go on a shopping spree, Kolding Storcenter is not far away and is Jutland's largest shopping center. There are also opportunities for student discounts in many places, such as stores, cafes, theaters, nightlife venues, and many other places.

NATURE IS RIGHT OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR
In Kolding, you only need to walk, run, or cycle a short distance to reach beautiful nature.
Marielundskoven is a cosy forest area with great trails, lakes, and perfect opportunities to take a break from your books. You can also go for the lighter version, which is a walk around the castle lake at Koldinghus, where you’ll find the Path of Love. If you're into mountain biking, you should do a trip to Stenderup Skovene and Skamlingsbanken, which are popular destinations for MTB enthusiasts. In summer, the fjord is very inviting, with several places where you can swim. Try the newly built bathing pier in Strandhuse, just a 10-minute bike ride from the city centre.

Guide to the city’s hidden gemsSTAY IN SHAPE
In Kolding, there are plenty of opportunities to stay active — whether you prefer solo exercise in beautiful nature or group workouts with like-minded fellow students.
Kolding is surrounded by scenic nature, water, and forests. This means there are lots of opportunities to get moving outdoors. It is really easy to get down to the water for a refreshing swim. The bathing pier at Fjordvejen is especially recommended. The hilly terrain is also a great advantage if you want to get some kilometres in on a run or bike ride. You can also freely use the city’s many outdoor training facilities, such as the training pavilion at Troldhedevej or the one at Kvarterhuset.
As a student, you can also become a member of Campus Sport. It is a student-driven association that offers a wide range of fun weekly activities. All members pay a small membership fee that provides various discounts and benefits. They offer, among other things, an outdoor training container, sauna sessions, dance, yoga, and much more.

In the heart of Kolding, right by the train station, you'll find the city's state-of-the-art library. The library is highly geared towards students, offering many resources and activities. The staff is helpful, and there are several excellent study rooms available where you can study alone or in groups.
Many students describe Kolding Library as a "home away from home" during their study time.
